What Should You Wear to a Chiropractic Appointment?

If it’s your first time seeing a chiropractor or even if you’ve been before you might still wonder what to wear. The simple answer is this: nothing special is required. However, with that being said, choosing the right clothing can make your visit far more comfortable and effective for you.

Start With Comfort

To begin with, think about ease of movement. During your appointment, you’ll likely lie on a treatment table, stretch, or move your arms and legs. Therefore, activewear or loose-fitting clothes allow this without restriction, making the session smoother for both you and your chiropractor.

Avoid Restrictive Clothing

In contrast, consider what not to wear. Tight jeans, stiff belts, or any clothing that limits flexibility can make treatment harder and less comfortable. In short, leave the restrictive pieces at home.

Skirts and Dresses?

While they may be stylish, skirts and dresses aren’t always practical. During treatment, you’ll often be asked to change positions on the table, or perform simple movements like squats. Pants or shorts will keep you more comfortable and covered throughout.

Footwear Matters

When it comes to shoes, choose flat and supportive options. Sneakers, trainers, or ballet flats work best. Because certain movements may be part of your assessment, these shoes make tasks like lunges or squats much easier than heels ever could.

Coming Straight From Work

Don’t stress if you’re heading to your appointment straight from the office. Chiropractors regularly see patients in work attire. Simply remove bulky outer layers like jackets or ties if asked, and you’ll be good to go.

The Bottom Line

There’s no strict dress code for chiropractic care. The goal is to feel comfortable, move freely, and avoid clothing that gets in the way. Dress with that in mind, and you’ll be well-prepared to get the most out of your visit.

We look forward to seeing you in the clinic – ready, relaxed, and dressed for comfort. Call us today or book online to schedule your next appointment.
